Healthshare Clinic, Winchester

Healthshare Clinic, Winchester

Completed Spring 2022, the Winchester Clinic is the third clinic to be opened by the Healthshare Group in 20 months and adds to their ever-growing portfolio. The new site and state-of-the-art equipment, aims to support Healthshare Group’s growing reputation for delivering affordable high-quality healthcare to patients and the community.

Having recently helped successfully deliver a similar project at the Riverside Clinic, Palcon Energy Services Ltd were again selected to provide a key role in the design and installation of the building management system.

Built on the Trend Controls IQ4e range of controllers, a single control panel provides centralised control and management of the buildings HVAC systems. Utilising an energy efficient air source air source heat pump system to provide domestic hot water to the premises, the design also features two dedicated Air Handling Units each serving a state-of-the-art operating theatre. Directly controlled by the BMS to provide the ambient conditions required by the surgical teams, surgical touchscreens also provide a local control interface and give real time data on the systems operational conditions.

A second control panel is dedicated to the operation of the MRI Imaging Suite and provides control of the chilled water system and emergency extract functions in response to any depletion of oxygen in the space via a Crowcon gas detection system.

Comfort control of non-surgical and office spaces is provided by a Mitsubishi VRF system comprising multiple fan coil and heat recovery units. A Niagara N4 based Tonn8 controller is utilised to extensively integrate the system into the BMS to ensure streamlined operation. The same controller also provides real-time reading of electrical circuits throughout the building via modbus energy meters.

An IQ Vision supervisory package provides the onside management team access and ability to control the environmental conditions and monitor the various critical systems fitted.
